I’m Adam Baillie, your State Member for Townsville.

As a former local small business owner and proud father of three school-aged children, I understand the challenges faced by many families in Townsville. My family chose to make Townsville our home because of the lifestyle, opportunities, and community spirit that make this city such a great place to live and work.

Prior to stepping into the role as your Member for Townsville, I spent a decade building and managing my family business here in Townsville, serving hundreds of local customers. I hold a degree in mechanical engineering, and trade qualifications as an electrician and refrigeration mechanic and understand the value of hard work, practical skills, and the importance of supporting local businesses.

As the Member for Townsville, my role is to listen to the concerns of residents, advocate on behalf of our community, and work to deliver real outcomes for our community. Residents regularly raise concerns with me about youth crime, rising living costs, housing shortages, and the need for more investment in infrastructure.

That’s why I’m committed to delivering stronger consequences for offenders, prioritising the rights of victims, and ensuring more police resources are available with the tools they need to do their job. At the same time, I am focused on ensuring effective early intervention programs, improved mental health services, and rehabilitation opportunities are in place to break the cycle of offending.

In addition, I am advocating to deliver investment in infrastructure to unlock more housing lots and ease the pressure on housing, creating the opportunity for even more people to enjoy living in Townsville.

I will continue to work with all levels of government to secure meaningful outcomes for Townsville. Together, we can support small businesses, create local jobs, and deliver the infrastructure required to meet the needs of our growing population.

Townsville has enormous potential, and I am dedicated to ensuring our city is a safe, prosperous, and vibrant place to raise a family and build a future.
